The Shield of the Trinity is often used in chatechisms and other forms of Christian education to illustrate the truine nature of the Godhead. The Father (Pater), Son (Filius) and Spirit (Spiritu) are distinct persons, but they are all one God (Deus).
The three curving sides, each exactly equal in length, carry the Latin words, "is not". The short straight bands have the word "is". The outer circles bear the words, "Father", "Son", "Holy Spirit", while the inner circle is "God". |
